Antiracism Vision

Vision is more than what we see with our eyes.  It is how we imagine ourselves and the world.  Black imagination has enriched the world with its creativity and power.  But racism has prevented us from sharing in the wealth and benefits that our vision and work has produced in the world.   Black people are a very complex and varied group who are all affected by racism.  However, individually, our experiences are different and since there is such variety among black people, our thoughts and ideas about racism are equally varied.

Every person knows their own truth.  Each person has the capacity to find a way to a more equitable world.  However, in a world where there are systems of oppression, it takes collective efforts to change them and dismantle them.  In order to do that, we need a common vision.

The antiracism vision is a platform of ideas about what the future should be.  The vision has been present since the beginning of oppression.  When the first people were enslaved because of their skin color the vision became freedom.  The vision of antiracism has been present and is still present. It was present in revolts of enslaved people, the Underground Railroad, Tulsa’s black wall street, the civil rights movement, affirmative action, black panther platform, black lives matter platform, and every other idea imagined to fight racism.  We must use this history and see that the how is not as important as the collective action.  A simple platform that is flexible that can unite the vast variety of people that make up the African diaspora that we call black people.  No new ideas.  No new vision. A clear vision that is adaptable.  A vision that allows individual black people to find their own way that is inside them but still keeps them connected to a collective vision.  This is an Antiracist platform of self sufficiency to build influential leverage in the world.  Self sufficiency is only possible if there is true freedom.  Once we have self sufficiency then we are on solid ground to effectively fight the 3 big injustices of the world, racism, greed, and global conflict.
